Standard Business Sponsorship
We work with employers requiring assistance to become Standard Business Sponsors, as well as assisting with applications for Temporary and Permanent visas with employer sponsorship.
We help to ensure the best chance of success when applying for approval as a sponsor, removing the guesswork and providing greater certainty around the process, helping our clients to focus on their business.
There are 3 processing stages in sponsoring an employee from overseas under the subclass 457 visa programme:
- Sponsorship The employer applies for approval as a standard business sponsor. This is required to nominate an occupation for a subclass 457 visa.
- Nomination The employer nominates an occupation for a prospective or existing subclass 457 visa holder.
- 457 Visa application The person nominated to work in the nominated occupation applies for the subclass 457 visa. This is the final step to obtaining a subclass 457 visa
The following diagram illustrates the 3 processing stages and their order for subclass 457 visas:

Immigration compliance can be challenging for an organisation to manage. We assist employers to manage compliance with their obligations as Standard Business Sponsors or as party to a Labour Agreement with the Australian Government. This includes commitments to the employment, education and training of Australians, as well as managing compliance and monitoring reports with the Department of Immigration.
If you are a Standard Business Sponsor, we can perform a corporate health checks to ensure your “house is in order”, and assist with immigration audits.
We also conduct in-house training to HR or mobility management teams as an added value service to our corporate clients.
A Labour Agreement enables businesses to engage overseas labour on a large scale outside of the Employer Sponsored Migration (subclass 457) program in response to a skills or labour shortage in Australia.
We can assist employers in the negotiation of Labour Agreements between the employer and the Australian Department of Immigration. We also provide advice and assistance to employers to manage compliance with their obligations under the agreement, such as commitments to the employment, education and training of Australians, as well as manage all compliance and monitoring reports with the Department of Immigration after the Labour Agreement is approved.
